About Fitz Consulting
Fitz Consulting is a Christchurch-based commercial property advisory and project delivery firm focused on strengthening, improving, and repositioning commercial buildings.
Founded after the Christchurch earthquakes, we help owners, investors, landlords, and occupiers make clear decisions around complex property issues, including acquisitions, seismic strengthening, compliance upgrades, renovations, distressed assets, and tenant-specific building solutions.
We specialise in buildings that are tired, vacant, earthquake-prone, non-compliant, difficult to lease, or no longer aligned with an owner’s long-term plans.
Our role is to assess risk, identify opportunity, create practical upgrade pathways, and manage projects from early feasibility through to completion — helping turn problem buildings into productive commercial assets.
Paul Fitzsimmons
Paul Fitzsimmons is the Managing Director of Fitz Consulting, specialising in the management and delivery of complex commercial property projects.
Paul and his family arrived in Christchurch just one week before the February 2011 earthquake. Since then, he has developed more than 15 years of hands-on experience managing commercial building repairs, renovations, seismic strengthening, compliance upgrades, tenant fit-outs, and building repositioning projects.
Paul works directly with commercial property owners to establish the project scope, assemble the right team, and manage the process from initial investigation through to completion. He coordinates architects, engineers, consultants, builders, specialist contractors, tenants, and regulatory requirements while maintaining oversight of budgets, programmes, quality, and communication.
His strength is bringing together the right people and keeping every part of the project moving. Paul remains closely involved throughout delivery, resolving issues, managing competing priorities, and ensuring owners have a clear understanding of progress, costs, and upcoming decisions.
His practical and commercially focused approach gives building owners a single point of contact and experienced project leadership from the early planning stages through construction and Code of Compliance.

Nicola Fitzsimmons combines business acumen with hands-on project expertise to keep Fitz Consulting running seamlessly. With a background spanning marketing, finance, and commercial property, she manages project coordination, client relationships, and the operational details that turn complex strengthening and acquisition projects into smooth outcomes.
